So I was downloading Xbox 360 controller drivers and then it asked me to restart my mac, then i when i log in my computer functions as normal but some applications show this message: 'can not open application because it may be damaged or incomplete', my first instinct was to restart my computer but it only made it worse happening to ALL my finder applications and files. Please Help my mac is unusable at this point!!!!
I suggest staying at 10.13.3 for now until it is safer to upgrade. Another alternative is to re-download High Sierra full version from the Mac App Store, load it on a USB key and install it from scratch, like this 10.13.4 should be installed properly on your system, it has worked for my friend who is also on a 2013 MacBook pro retina. To continue to install macOS High Sierra, open the Diskutil app within recovery mode and reformat the unmounted drive to APFS. Also delete the cache. Open the Finder window, select 'Go' from.
I tried A. 'fake reinstalling macos' (without deleting files)
B. First Aid w/ disk utility
C. Apple support
I don't want to reinstall mac os entirely so if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
Optimized Storage in macOS Sierra and later* can save space by storing your content in iCloud and making it available on demand. When storage space is needed, files, photos, movies, email attachments, and other files that you seldom use are stored in iCloud automatically. Each file stays right where you last saved it, and downloads when you open it. Files that you’ve used recently remain on your Mac, along with optimized versions of your photos.
